Breaking news: Victoria Regional Transit Commission today endorses full LRT plan (Victoria to Langford) and sends to BC Transit Board; asks for federal and provincial funding.
Details to follow
For $250 million we can sit in traffic or we can get moving with LRT. We support LRT. Let's get moving.
Under the Provincial Transit Plan, senior governments would cover two-thirds of the cost of a Light Rail Transit system. That makes the local share of LRT from Victoria to Six Mile $250 million. Just maintaining the current, bus-based service will cost $250 million. An LRT system will attract higher ridership, reduce congestion, cut greenhouse gas emissions and get commuters home a lot faster. Join the campaign. Support LRT for the CRD.

Welcome!
Thank you for engaging with the important question of transit in the Capital Regional District.
We've created this website to strengthen public support for Light Rail Transit in the CRD.
We argue that light rail alone has the potential to attract high ridership, shape land-use, protect our regional quality of life, and meet emission reduction targets. Those attributes give us a sound basis...and a business case.
It is now time for senior governments to deliver an investment in public transit in the CRD. Your support will help us find out what they're willing to do and bring them on board.
